HISTORY & STYLE: This is a piece of jewelry from the '40s, in the tradition of the Art Deco period: a blend of paltinium and white gold, single-use diamondsbut the composition is still rather geometric, based on a vertical line (the diamonds baguette) and a horizontal line (the points at the top and bottom) with two similar shapes mounted in mirror image, becomes more flexible with the rounding of the sheaves. This was the first step towards the curls and bows that would rule the '50s.We've named this brooch "Batailles de fleurs" after the "gerbes" of diamonds which reminded us of that unique event at the Nice Carnival and the Menton Lemon Festival. Floats adorned with flowers paraded through the town, and beautiful young girls dressed up and dressed down threw whole sprays of carnations, roses, gladioli, mimosas and other flowers at passers-by, until the float was completely naked. This extremely popular "corso" was created for the 1era in 1876. The aim was to create an entertaining event for winter visitors, who were already vacationing in this land of mild winters and blue skies. The vast majority were British, whose taste for gardens and flowers is well known. And at the end of the 19th century, the Côte d'Azur was a major horticultural region, thanks in particular to the mild climate and absence of frost.

Authentication & Certification

Charlotte Rey and Anne Borde help individuals who ask themselves a thousand questions when selling their jewelry(s). How much is it worth on the market? Is it solid gold or gold plated? How to identify stones? And, after all, what if it came from a prestigious house?

With the jewel in hand, the founders of Castafiore determine the nature of the materials, the weight of the gold, the carats of the stones, etc. They are also looking for the trace of a hallmark, a sign of a possible renowned jeweler.

This expertise then gives rise to a digital certificate of authenticity registered in the Blockchain (GoodsID), in other words traceable and unfalsifiable; it will accompany the jewel throughout its existence, over the course of its owners.
